The Rubber Hand Illusion (RHI) produces a shift in body ownership toward an artificial hand. This study examined whether that shift affects reaction time in hand movements guided by body position. We compared reaction-time gaps across combinations of acoustic-stimulus intensity and the presence or absence of RHI induction. In Experiment 1, participants moved their right hand toward the left hand to which body ownership had shifted; reaction time increased significantly after RHI induction. In Experiment 2, participants moved their right hand forward without referring to the left hand, and no delay occurred. These findings suggest that RHI-induced shifts in body ownership affect the reaction time of movements that require reference to body position.
